The operational and material complex of the fiscal police in the Orizaba-Veracruz area, 1757-1807

Abstract

The objective of this article is to identify the changes and continuities in the administration of justice in the province of Veracruz in the context of the introduction of the Bourbon modernizing project at the end of the eighteenth century. This is carried out using the analysis of two judicial cases located in the Acordada collection of the National Archives that demonstrate the jurisdictional conflict between two institutions of local government, the commissioners of the Acordada and the subdelegadates.
